Khustai National Park-the reserve’s forested steppe is home to the last true wild horse in the world, the Prejevalski horse or takhi. It disappeared in the Gobi in 1960 but has now been reintroduced. There are now over 400 horses in the reserve, which is a perfect spot for hiking and horse riding. The grassy steppe is home to a wide variety of wildlife including gazelle, deer, wildcat and wolf, which are best seen late in the day.
Day 1.Ulaanbaatar.Our professional team will meet you at the “ChinggisKhaan” international airport and transfer to the hotel in the city. After rest, we will start our city tour starting fromZaisian Hill that provides wide open view of the Ulaanbaatar. We will visit the BogdKhaan Palace Museum. The palace was built in 1903 dedicated to the 8thBogdGegeen, the head of lamaist religion and last khan of Mongolia. Amazing bronze castings, silk paintings, paper icons, mineral paintings, god statues made by Zanabazar and his students is the main attraction of this palace. Visit to the Museum of National History and ChingissKhaansquare formerly known as Sukhbaatar square. This square is a spirit of the capital and famous for its surroundings including Parliament House, National Opera Theatre, Cultural Palace and House of City Council. We will end our day with traditional performance of folk songs, throat singing, horse-headed fiddle, ethnic dances and arty contortion. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2.Khustai National Park.After breakfast at the hotel drive to Altanbulag sum, Tuv province. Tuv province is located on the west of Khentii Mountain and Khangain Mountain’s east part. North and north eastern part is rich with surface water due to the rivers such as the; Terelj, Khag, Khongor, Uliastai, Gachuurt and their mother River Tuul. Take a canoealong the Tuul River to reach Khustai National Park. Meet the transportation on the bank of Tuul River nearby Khustai National Park. Drive to Khustai Camp. The park lies in the foothills of southern Khentii mountain range and it is the place where you can see wild horse called Takhi known as Przewalski horse to the world. The wild horses survive in nature by themselves because they have been reintroduced successfully to their homeland after 40 years of extinction. Currently, the number of Takhi has already reached more than 170.Dinner and overnight at the ger camp.
Day 3.MoltsogEls.Trekking to MoltsogEls located in 10kms from Khustai National Park. Enjoy wildlife on the way: 44 species of mammals have been recorded, including Red deer, Mongolian gazelle, Roe deer, Wild boar, Wild sheep, Ibex, Mongolian marmots, Grey wolves, Lynx, Pallas’ cat, Red fox, Corsac fox and Eurasian badger. The 217 species of birds include Golden eagle, Lammergeier, Great bustard, Whooper swan, Black stork, Daurian partridge and Little owl. There are 16 species of fish, 2 species of amphibians, and 385 species of insects (including 21 species of ants, 55 species of butterflies, 10 species of bush crickets and 29 species of grasshoppers).Overnight in tent.
Day 4.DoloonUndurUul.Cycling day to DoloonUndurUul in 40 kms. Arrive at the place where you spend a night. Overnight in tent.
Day 5.Ulaanbaatar.Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. In the afternoon, we will visit Gandan Monastery a centre of Mongolian yellow head Buddhism. We will see outstanding and impressive 24m golden plated statue of Buddha; MegjidJanraiseg. This monastery is the largest and most important monastery of Mongolia with 500 monks.Free time of exploring Ulaanbaatar city and shopping in the State Department Store and cashmere outlet store.Overnight in the hotel.
Day 6.International departure.
